Our founding story
Building the next era of family office financials
Our founders, enterprise software veterans Dean Palmiter and Daniel Kennedy, started Asseta to solve the massive technological gap in the ultra-high-net-worth wealth management market.
While scaling family office solutions at tech giants like Sage Intacct and Oracle NetSuite, Dean noticed a massive problem. Multi-billion-dollar portfolios managing complex, multi-entity wealth were caught in a frustrating middle ground: they had outgrown basic software like QuickBooks but found standard corporate ERP systems far too rigid for family structures. They saw complex organizations relying on fragmented, error-prone spreadsheets and manual workarounds.
Dean and Daniel founded Asseta in January 2023 as a multi-entity general ledger that integrates banking, investments, and accounting into a single GAAP-aligned system. The market demand was immediate, particularly among larger wealth offices overseeing multi-entity structures.
In late 2025, Asseta secured a $4.2 million seed funding round co-led by fintech venture capital firms Nyca Partners and Motive Partners, propelling the platform to support more than $10 billion in assets under management.
As the platform evolved, we started introducing sophisticated, native Agentic AI tools directly into its financial architecture. Instead of just tracking data, the suite automates workflows such as document processing, cross-entity reconciliation, and transaction tagging.
Today, we are the intelligent operating system for the modern family office, providing wealth managers real-time financial visibility and replacing manual chaos with institutional-grade data governance and giving family offices the insights they need to lead the pack.
